The Legend of the "Bear"The Bear 650 isn't just a generic retro model; it is a direct tribute to a legendary moment in motorcycle history. The bike gets its name from the brutal Big Bear Run—a famous, chaotic 161-kilometre desert endurance race held in 1960, a 16-year-old rookie named Eddie Mulder (who went on to become the legendary "Fast Eddie") lined up against over 750 hardened riders. Against all odds, he piloted a 500cc Royal Enfield Fury across the harsh desert terrain to take a historic overall victory, becoming the youngest winner the race ever saw. Royal Enfield built the Bear 650 to capture that exact spirit of grit, confidence, and scrambler heritage.
